Do I have to provide information to use the services on the Site?

No, registration is not required for the general areas of the Site. In fact, the majority of information and services on the Site can be used anonymously. There are only a few sections of our Site in which we collect information. For example, membership in the WD-40 Fan Club requires you to complete a registration form. During registration you are asked to supply basic contact information (first and last name, e-mail address, zip code and country). If you opt in to receive periodic updates via email, we use this information to contact you about services for which you have expressed interest as well as to communicate with you about our products.

Other areas where the Site collects data are the Contact Us, Submit a Use and Money Back Guarantee forms. The Contact Us form provides an area of the site where users can provide feedback, ask questions or make suggestions. Users can also register for the WD-40 email mailing list using this form, though it is not required.

The information gathering and order processing for theconsumerlink.com/wd40 in the ”SHOP” section are handled by a third party vendor, SureSource LLC.. They also guarantee not to share your personal information, and their credit transactions are handled with industry-standard SSL encryption to protect your information. Is there a way for me to make a change to my profile information on the Site or unsubscribe completely from future communications?

Yes. If your profile information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if you no longer desire our services, we provide a way to correct or update your profile information. If you'd like to remain a Fan Club member, but you elect not to receive e-mail communications from us you can change the e-mail setting in your profile information (located on the My Profile page of the Fan Club section) to unsubscribe.

What are cookies and how are they used on this Site?

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer that makes the site easier to navigate for returning users. A cookie is not personally identifiable, in other words usage of a cookie is in no way linked to detailed user profiles.

The cookies exist solely for the convenience of our users. By setting a cookie on our Site, you do not have to log in (to pages that require a login) more than once during a usage session, thereby saving time while on the site. You may also set your browser to alert you when a cookie is being used or to reject cookies entirely, if you wish. Doing so will not prevent you from using this Site. However, the user will not be able to use some feedback functions in the Fan Club.

What are log files and how are they used?

Like most standard website servers, the Site uses log files to give us an idea of what our users are interested in. The information in a log file may include internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users' movements as a group, not individually (e.g. the Fan Club welcome page received 400 visits today), and gather broad demographic data. Log files are not in any way linked to profile information.

Is there an age limit for registrants of this Site?

The minimum age to register for this site is 13-years-old. It is the policy of WD-40 Company not to collect information from individuals under the age of 13. To comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, children under the age of 13 should not provide any information on this Site. We ask that parents supervise their children while online.
